My June Favorites: Beauty & Skincare
Happy Tuesday, ASSASSINS!
June is slowly coming to an end. So I wanted to share four of my favorite beauty and skincare products used during this month! Lets get started! 🙂
Juvia’s Place: Nubian 2 Palette
I bought the Nubian 2 Palette awhile ago and never really used it. This month, I found myself reaching for it nonstop! Since it’s the summertime, I gravitated towards its bright colors and shimmer shades. Their eye shadows are extremely pigmented and made for melanin skin (which is why I LOVE it!). Every shadow compliments my skin tone and blends out perfectly! Not only that it’s travel size friendly, which is a major plus because I don’t want to carry multiple palettes. Nubian 2 has every color I need for any occasion, whether that be a daytime or nighttime look. As for price, I paid $30 including shipping/handling and received my palette within a week! I definitely plan on purchasing more palettes from Juvia’s Place in the future! (Support black owned businesses!)
Acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment
The acne.org benzoyl peroxide treatment. . . man where do I even start?! This treatment is absolutely amazing if you have acne prone skin and obviously acne. I personally grew up having little to no acne at all however, these past few months my skin was mildly breaking out. For someone whose not used to dealing with acne, I was in a panic. After doing some research, I came across the acne.org website and saw how great the reviews were. I figured why not give it a try and see how my skin reacts. Week one I was absolutely miserable, I have to be honest this treatment is some powerful stuff! Up until week two I was wondering if I had made a horrible mistake with putting this benzoyl peroxide on my face. By the middle of week two I started to notice a HUGE difference in the texture of my skin; as well as NO breakouts AT ALL! The benzoyl peroxide had successfully exfoliated my skin and left it smooth as silk, literally. I’m on my 4th week now and I can’t see myself using anything else ever again! I will soon incorporate their AHA (supposed to get rid of dark spots/hyper pigmentation/scars etc.) and will let you all know how that works for me as well. Until then, if you’re having issues with acne you should definitely try it! That’s of course considering if you can handle the initial stages lol.

Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer w. Sunscreen
While on the benzoyl peroxide treatment, they made it a point to use facial lotion that had sunscreen included. One of their recommendations was Olay Complete. My first time using this lotion was a mess. . . I used way too much! Let me tell you, this lotion is white and does not apply “clear” on darker skin tones. I learned that a little goes a long way! Apply sparingly and you’ll be fine LOL! Once I got over the learning curve, using this facial lotion was a breeze. It does not make my combination oily skin feel heavy/clogged and it hydrates nicely. The most important thing here is that it includes sunscreen! I think we oftentimes fail to realize how much we need to protect our skin (especially our face) from the sun rays. I would highly recommend using this product for daily use year round and during long hours outdoors. It was reasonably priced for under $8 too, so there’s no excuse not to purchase it!
Revlon Mink Lipstick
The entire month of June I’ve carried this lipstick in my purse AT ALL TIMES! This shade is the perfect nude with a hint of peach. I also find myself mixing this shade with various pencils and matte liquid lipsticks. You can essentially mix it with anything to create your own custom shade! I love it because of its versatility of being able to be worn during the day or night as well as a perfect mix color. You really cannot go wrong with Revlon’s Mink Lipstick!
Those were my favorite products for the month of June! Please make sure to subscribe and let me know if you’ve used any of the products above, or have any you think I should try!
Until next time ASSASSINS. . . Stay Motivated!

Oh boy!! I’m considering that lipstick now, too!! I’ve been searching for a color like that!
LOL! Get the palette and lipstick! Think I purchased it from Walmart for cheap.
Thank you cuzin, I LOVE dark lipstick when I do decide to wear it…I will definitely try Revlon Mink.
Thank you for reading cousin! Yes definitely try the lipstick! I’ve seen it in Walmart, Target and most drug stores.
Hello Miss Ashley.
I’ve seen those Nubian Palette colors on you, and as you stated, they are amazing. Thanks for the tip on the Olay complete. I will certainly save money over what I’m currently using, and I’ll try the Revlon Mink. It will be good to have a nice nude color. Thank you!
