Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner Review

Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner

Now Y’ALL KNOW I’m team Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10-In-1 Hair Masque  for my deep conditioner! HOWEVER… I was in Walmart’s natural hair care section “just looking” (as always) and saw the Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner. Now I’ve heard nothing but great things about this brand and especially this deep conditioner in general. So can you blame me for casually picking it up?? I made sure to use ALL of my Superfruit Complex Hair Masque before opening the Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner jar! I refuse to be a product junkie! LOL. Now let’s get into the review…

At first glance, the consistency appeared to be lighter and more watery than Shea Moisture’s Superfruit Complex deep conditioner. When I applied it to my hair, I did not care for the smell although it was completely bearable! It reminded me of the cotton scent from Bath & Body Works but without the “fresh” scent added to it. I know, that sounded absolutely confusing but it’s the best way I can describe it! I use jojoba oil on my scalp every other day and for me personally, it doesn’t have a scent. So I’m not sure where the scent is derived from for this conditioner, but I digress!

I had to use more product than usual because the slip was nonexistent for my type 4 hair. This made me a tad annoyed since I had to work slightly harder to fully detangle my sections. I did notice that once my hair was twisted, there was a lot of leftover product on my hands and twists. To me this meant I was using way too much however, that was OK considering I needed the additional product. Plus, seeing my hair coated in deep conditioner made me think it would be extra conditioned/moisturized! Am I the only one who thinks that when you use more product it’ll work better? LOL. I sat under my steamer for 30-40 minutes and when I got out, my hair felt extremely soft and moisturized! I rinsed it out with cool water and styled as usual. Which I need to mention, my hair was completely manageable and easy to handle.

Would I buy Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner again? No, I wouldn’t buy it again because the little to no slip for my hair was a deal breaker for me. However, I like it enough to use the entire jar (since I paid for it LOL) and because it does exactly what it’s supposed to! Now I probably should’ve known that Jojoba would be light for my hair considering it’s a light oil. So if Eden Bodyworks comes out with a Castor Oil deep conditioner, I’ll be first in line to buy!

In conclusion, I didn’t hate it but I also didn’t love it enough to repurchase or replace my holy grail Superfruit Complex. I will say that if you’re considering trying this conditioner, then you should go for it because it works!

Have you used any of the Eden Bodyworks collection?? Let me know in the comments so I can lookout for it in my next “just browsing” moment! J
