How to Execute On Your Goals When You Don’t Feel Ready

I’m sure you have that goal you’ve been wanting to accomplish but haven’t felt ready to execute on. You’ve probably been “planning” waiting for the perfect time to take action and yet, that “perfect moment” still hasn’t appeared. I hate to break it to you but there’s no such thing as the perfect moment. So many of us hinder ourselves because we’re doing more thinking than actual doing! It’s time for you to get out of your comfort zone and take action towards the goals you aspire to achieve!

Accept that you may NEVER feel ready

When you can accept that the perfect moment will never appear, you’ll be more inclined to take action. The point here is, you have got to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Have enough faith in yourself to know that you’re more than capable of making the right decision. Additionally, have enough courage to take the first step of action despite not knowing what outcome awaits on the other side. You will never feel ready… but at least you’re well aware that you can handle whatever outcome you receive!

Done is better than perfect – Give yourself permission to release perfectionism

I give you permission to stop being perfect! All perfectionism does is cause you to procrastinate and waste precious time. So many of us miss our chance to leap because we’re perfecting every little detail. Instead, take the first action step and then plan your next small step. All of those little leaps will tally up to one huge jump! Give yourself permission not to be perfect and instead a work in progress.

Don’t get stuck in planning mode

You do not need to know every single detail of your plan. Why? Because as you begin taking action, your plans will quickly shift. This is why it’s imperative that you don’t get sucked up in planning mode. Additionally, you shouldn’t know what’s going to happen once you execute. If you do, you’ve been planning for far too long and have probably missed your opportunity.

Be prepared to adapt and pivot

When we step out on a leap of faith, anything can happen as a result. Whether that result is good or a lesson learned, you need to be prepared to quickly adapt and/or pivot. This is why it’s so crucial that you get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Things change quick and you need to be able to handle any changes that come your way. This DOES NOT mean you plan possible outcomes! It only means get mentally prepared to adapt.

Executing on your goals even though you don’t feel ready isn’t difficult; we just make it that way. If you’ve tried these steps and are still having a hard time, I can definitely help you.
