5 Scary Netflix Movies to Watch on Halloween Night

Netflix horror movies

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year; as I love horror movies, dressing up in costumes and visiting haunted attractions. Since it’s Halloween, I figure why not give you some scary movies to watch on Netflix tonight! If you enjoy thrills and slight scares, then you’ll definitely want to check this list out!

House on Haunted Hill (2018)

The House on Haunted Hill is a Netflix series that received rave reviews and popularity very quickly. I completely understand why as I was hooked the first 5 minutes of watching episode 1! This thriller series is about a family that’s forced to confront the memories of their old home and the events that made them flee away from it. There’s a lot of flashbacks into the past, while learning each character in the present. I immediately loved this series because they do a great job of keeping the thrills high and scares/pop outs consistent throughout the episodes. Additionally, House on Haunted Hill keeps you guessing and wondering what really happened to this family while they were occupying that house!

Veronica (2017)

Veronica is a Spanish film therefore, you will have to be OK with reading subtitles. I personally have no issue with this as one of my favorite Netflix series is Narcos… and we all know that’s nothing but subtitles. Anyway, don’t let having to read steer you away from this amazing movie! Veronica takes place in Madrid, Spain with the year being 1991. She’s a teen girl that gets caught up with her friends by playing with a Ouija board. Once the game was over, Veronica starts to endure an evil supernatural presence that won’t go away. There’s tons of pop outs within this film and the thrill level is consistently high. If you fear supernatural movies, I suggest this is watched with someone else in the room (especially when you see the very end of the movie).

Hush (2016)

Hush is an amazing thriller movie that’ll take you on a ride from beginning to end! What makes it scary is, this can actually happen in real life if you’re a single woman living on your own. The star of the film is Maddie, whose a deaf author living in the woods and completely secluded from society. One night, a masked psychotic killer appears in her window and she must get out of dodge to keep herself protected and alive. It’s difficult since she’s miles away from anyone else, cannot call for immediate help and is deaf. This is a classic game of cat and mouse, to see whose going to come out as the survivor! I’m telling you now that you’ll be on edge while watching how Maddie and the killer maneuvers throughout this film.

Delirium (2018)

Delirium definitely took me for a ride and I loved every minute of it! You will find yourself questioning what’s real and fake within this movie… then start second guessing once you think you’ve figured it out! Delirium is about a man that’s released from a mental institution and inherits his deceased wealthy parents mansion. He has to stay in this huge creepy mansion by himself on house arrest for over a month. Of course, anyone would start to go crazy and hear things during their time there however, the events that take place are just insane! He learns a ton about himself and his family during his stay there. Definitely watch this if you love thrillers, lots of pop outs and a whirlwind of “is this really happening?”

Would You Rather (2012)

Would You Rather caught my attention because it’s an old time favorite game… but this movie plot is not fun! It starts with a young woman who is in dire need of cash to help her sick brother stay alive. So she decides to attend a party hosted by a sick crazed millionaire, that’ll give away cash money to whoever wins the game. Only thing is, she didn’t realize how REAL this game of “Would You Rather” was going to get! There’s no pop outs to be on the lookout for within this movie, it’s more so gory like Saw. Tons of thrills and thoughts of what decisions the people within this game are going to make.
