Should You Stop Your Launch During the Covid-19 Crisis?
The Covid-19 pandemic has us all in trying times right now. Businesses have temporarily shut down, schools are closed and most employees have been furloughed, laid off or are working from home. This crisis has dramatically changed our lives in such a short period of time and most of us are thinking, “what’s next?” As an online business owner, I’ve seen so many conflicting posts about what we as an online community should do. So I wanted to share my current experiences as a service-based entrepreneur, in hopes that this will encourage you too.
Pre-Launch phase before the pandemic
Before this crisis occurred, I was in the middle of my pre-launch phase with my audience. Things were already rolling and in motion for me to transition into the actual launch of my high ticket offer. Then the pandemic occurred and just like that people started working remotely or lost their jobs. It seemed like there was no in between and the online service-based community went into a panic. I have to admit that I almost panicked too; how could I keep my launch going during a time like this? Honestly, I thought about halting the launch until the pandemic was over, but before I made that huge decision I went to my online community.
Stop, pivot or keep selling?
In a nutshell, most online service-based entrepreneurs were pivoting their offers to low ticket and encouraging others to do the same. My problem? The offer I was launching was nowhere near low ticket and I had no plans to create one either. My heart just wasn’t in it; my heart was in the high ticket offer that I spent so much time building out for my audience. So I had a decision to make… was I going to stop my launch altogether or move forward with it?

Don’t hop on the bandwagon; follow your heart
I sat with my options for 24 hours… because that’s literally all the time that I had. My biggest thought in all of this was, would people think less of me if I moved forward with my launch? I deeply cared about not offending my audience and ensuring that they knew I cared about their well-being. It was in that moment when I knew that I needed to move forward with my current offer.
People need your offer; learning doesn’t stop because we’re in a crisis. If anything, your offer can significantly help them during this time! So regardless of whether it’s high ticket or not, I personally encourage you to keep moving forward. I officially launched 4 days ago and have made 7K in sales. I also made sure to work with my clients that needed an extended payment plan. This way, they can still learn and have additional time to pay their next payment.
Continue to serve others
The point I want to press is this, as long as you continue to be in a serving state, your audience will stay aligned. Do not capitalize or scare people to work with you. I’ve seen lots of online entrepreneurs scaring people by telling them this crisis is the reason why they need to start an online business etc. If someone had no desire or passion to start an online business before this, then they should definitely not start one now.
I hope my personal experience encourages you to stay aligned with your heart and passion. If you know your offer (high or low ticket) can significantly help others, then please don’t keep it from your audience. They need you to keep serving them and accelerating their business growth!
