How to Overcome the Self Limiting Beliefs that’s Holding You Back
Self limiting beliefs is something that we all encounter. How you manage them is the important part though, you never want a limiting belief to hold you back from your dreams and goals. Yes, it’s easier said than done to handle them however, implementing these tips and staying consistent can help you properly manage them for good!
Decide What You Want
What do you want for your life? What’s your end goals that you wish to achieve? You need to become very clear about who it is that you need to become, in order to create the lifestyle you desire. Until you gain clarity on your ends goals, you’ll never have the proper road map to signify the things you need to do. Take an hour to imagine what your ideal life looks like. You don’t need to know how you’re going to get there either. All you need to do is visualize your ideal life in the future.
Confront Your Limiting Beliefs
Confront your limiting beliefs head on by identifying them as soon as they pop up. Anytime you’re speaking or thinking negatively, correct yourself. Immediately confront it by first accepting that what you said or thought is a limiting belief. Then unpack this thought by figuring out why you’ve felt this way up until now. An example of a self limiting belief can be, “I can’t do this because…” “There’s no way I’ll figure this out.” “I won’t be successful because…”

Identify their Formation
In the very beginning, I undervalued myself because I thought no one would pay a premium price for my 6-week productivity program called Master Your Time. I identified this self limiting belief by coming to terms with the fact that I was scared to put myself out there and lacked confidence. It wasn’t until I understood where this belief was coming from, that I could stop it. Fast forward to today and my program has been doing extremely well! However, it wasn’t until I had the confidence in myself first that others would have the confidence in me to help them.
Face the Consequences
You have to face the consequences of your self limiting beliefs if you choose to fall victim to them. Think about it, you really will not achieve what you desire by believing those lies. This is what you need to hone in on when those limiting beliefs pop up. Understanding the consequences of your actions, will better help you enforce positive thoughts.
Become Your New Identity
You need to become the identity of your future self now; not later. To do this, start implementing those habits that’ll get you to your end result. For example, my end result is to have several successful businesses and create generational wealth for my family. I know that in order to achieve this, I need to properly manage my time, educate myself, work on my personal development, have a positive mindset and be healthy. Therefore, I’m waking up 3 hours earlier at 5AM to hit the gym, I’m eating healthy, I read one book every month, I’m networking and joining masterminds. I’m slowly transitioning into the successful woman that I’ll be in the future!
Self limiting beliefs is nothing but a myth designed to “save ourselves” from our large ideas and end goals. I always know that I’m on the right path when a goal of mine scares me. It means that this goal will push and help me to grow both spiritually and mentally. We all have self limiting beliefs, but you decide how to manage them when they arise. Never let them win!
